As a large teaching trust we are proud of our extensive range of education, learning and practice development opportunities.

Whether we’re supporting new starters or helping you to learn new skills to deliver ‘caring at its best’ and manage your career progression, your success is our success – and is recognised in our annual Learning and Development Awards.

Getting the basics right

We provide a comprehensive range of statutory and mandatory training as part of our welcome and induction programme.

Helping you to be the best you can be

Our diverse selection of learning, development and education opportunities, supported by a network of learning and development specialists and clinical educators, ensures all our staff have the opportunity to further develop their core and specialist skills.

Our Nurse Education Academy is an educational partner with De Montfort University, allowing our nursing and midwifery education and practice development teams to deliver specialist degree level education to clinical staff.

Continuous professional development

We provide many opportunities for continuous professional development, from access to excellent library and resource facilities, events, seminars and talks, to mentorship, preceptorship and formal learning programmes.

Registered professionals can also access Learning Beyond Registration courses and modules across the East Midlands. These opportunities also support revalidation.

Supporting your career progression

We offer Institute of Leadership and Management courses to give both our experienced and future leaders the best tools to do their jobs and a range of bespoke programmes are available to help leaders develop their teams through change and innovation that supports improvements in the workplace.

We also recognise that many people choose to develop in ways which enable them to stay in front-line roles. We have a partnership arrangement with De Montfort University to deliver a masters course in advanced clinical practice.

Recognition of learning

Every year we celebrate learning and development at our Trust by formally presenting learning awards for both formal and informal learning. We have a number of awards for recognition of the quality of our training.
