What is your current role and what does it involve?
I currently work as a recruitment manager. My role is to manage the provision of operational and business-focused recruitment and associated transactional HR services.
Why did you choose to do the job you do now?
Having spent the last ten years of my recruitment career in the private sector where profit is the key motivator, I wanted the opportunity to move into healthcare, specifically a hospital, where people are the main focus.
What training have you had and how has your career progressed?
I did a business studies degree and then started my first role as a recruitment assistant while also studying for my Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development qualification. I then moved into the retail sector, where I gained the majority of my recruitment experience. This was with a large pharmacy retailer where I worked in a number of roles focusing on graduate and head office recruitment.
