Service

The palliative care unit serves a population of over one million. Palliative medicine has input into heart failure, COPD MDTs and cancer care MDTs.

We offer six clinics a week, running parallel with oncology, cardiology, and chest team clinics.

Team

The team is made up of five consultants and 12 nursing staff rotating between our hospitals.

Education

We provide a strong educational offering across both malignant and non malignant palliative care. Our principal focus is on cancer, but we also offer opportunities in the area of health failure and chest wards .

We also encourage attendance at oncology outpatient clinic, and opportunities are available for consultants to deputise.

Research

Our research offers leadership from Professor Christina Faull, and we regularly undertake clinical trials.
